Summer dresses

I really never do clothes post mainly because I really haven't bought any in a while. I want to wait till I slim down a bit more. Right now I'm kind of in between sizes. I "need" summer dresses because I hate wearing pants in the summer and I don't really like how I look in shorts. Plus it's not easy finding a good pair of shorts for me. I really like wearing dresses in the summer because it's something really easy to just throw on, and it's very breezy and cool. Where I live, it can get really hot.

Being that I am a bargain shopper I feel that I must share my experience with DD's Discounts. It's a store very much like Ross but for some reason I feel like I have better luck here. It seems more organized. Plus I think the clothes may be a bit cheaper too. They have a lot of cute tanks that are "in style" right now. Things you would expect to find at the mall but at half the price.

DD's is a place you can go to if you want to be easy on your wallet, and need a tunic/dress/top for clubbing ASAP. Ever have one of those days where you are just tired if what you have or need something new and quick? There are lots of tops I could see being worn to the club.
The dresses aren't half bad either.
I took some pictures of what I tried on.
Sorry for the quality. it was with a cel phone. I've been working out lately and really trying to slim down. I guess thats why I really never do posts about clothes either. But I suppose I'll make an exception this time.

I really liked this dress when I saw it, but when I put it on, I felt like it didn't compliment me that much. Basically, it made me look fat. It needed a belt or more shape around my waist because my hips are kind of big. Plus I didn't like how my arms look in this one.
This one was $14 by One Clothing.

This one didn't look good on me either but I thought it looked cute so I wanted to share:
This one was $10 or under I can't remember.

I really loved how this dress looked and the style of it! It was the only one I saw.
Sadly it was a bit too....um... titillating.. lol
This was a size Medium. Everything fit fine except the neckline. I was having some overflowage in this one. Not cool.
This was $7.99
I'm so sad that it didn't fit right ...

This one didn't look that great on the hanger but I personally liked it when I tried it on.
I typically don't like bubble type dresses but this one seems to be comfortable for me.
It's not too short. This was by One Clothing. I've seen this brand around before. I think they sell it at Macy's. It was $14. Things at this store don't usually seem to reach $14.
Everything I usually have an eye for is under $10.

I ended up getting only 1 thing and I ended up getting this dress.
I don't really have much green so I'm glad I got it.

under stimulated.

I don't really like writing anything personal on here any more but I just gotta put it out there. I haven't been around much lately. Not that anyone cares...I haven't done much with makeup..haven't felt too compelled to play round with it lately. I've just been mainly working out whether it be at the gym or at Tae Kwon Do. I've also been busy with the new band my bf and I have been involved with past few months. It's making slow progress but I think things are really starting to get cooking. Those of you that don't know I'm very music oriented. I just don't really like involving that part of my life into this blog. That's a really big thing for me that I have going on. I really just want to start performing again and make a comeback with this new band. I've also been just about addicted to working out. I really need to lose some weight contrary to what any of you may say...just save your breath honestly. I've seen old pix of me and I really did pack on pounds. I'm seeing some results slowly but just knowing I'm getting there makes me wanna go even more.

I've been so bored with blogger. I still try to lurk around and see whats going on. I really have this blog to practice and track my progress and learn from others....also to just add my own opinions with products that I like or dislike. I've been trying to find MORE bloggers out there that actually blog bout makeup and that are good at it..blending and all. Every now and then I'll go on youtube to find vids but I think I like the blogging aspect of it better. Some blogs now are just like.......damn I don't even know. It's like if I had a blog called "Everything About Dogs" and then I start blogging about giraffes, elephants and everything else that has nothing to do with dogs its like....why even title your blog that you know? I'm not calling anyone out so shut it. I'm just stating this in general so stop hating n stop crying. Another thing that really turns me off...how many pictures of packages filled with asian candy and stuff do we need to see? Lots of blogs now are just full of that. It's so repetetive and it does nothing for me. Maybe if you did reviews on the stuff you get then I could see how it's worth blogging about. I'm probably going to hear it now. Or I'll probably get people clicking the un follow button or talking behind my back bout what I just said but who cares? I really don't. I just need to get that off my back. I'm just keepin it real.

Well nuff of that... on a different note...

I'm starting school again after taking last semester off. I'm just taking 1 summer class. I need to get crackin and back on track with school. I really want to get my life back on track. I start my new job on Wed. I'm excited about that. I'll be doing office work at my TKD studio. My mom also got a part time job but she starts in July.

I've also been kind of busy trying to figure things out organizing benefits and fundraisers for my friend that I found out was in a really really bad car collision. She is still not all there yet but I think she's getting there.

On top of everything else, I haven't been getting much sleep lately. It's been realy hard for me to fall asleep.
So thats pretty much what I've been up to lately.

requested look: teal & brown

Here is another requested look.
I used UDPP as a base and then MUFE cream eyeshadow in a bright light blue/teal color.
On top of that, I added mac suite aray in Shallow vs. Deep which made the teal pop.
Over that I put NYX Chocolate and then a lighter shimmery brown for highlight.
I then took a darker matte brown and added it to the outer corners.

I feel so bare w/o falsies. I'm just too lazy to put them on. haha.

Requested Look: Purple & Silver

I'm back with a look finally! I'm fresh out of contact lenses =[ I need to get a new exam so I can get new lenses. I guess thats why I'm so hesitant to do looks. I can see up close just fine and I hate doing makeup w/o contacts because I have to be all close to a mirror and can't step back to see myself from a distance. I like to take a look from far away to see if my makeup is uneven sometimes. It's actually a little harder to do makeup w/o contacts for me... so bare with me.

In my giveaway I asked for some look suggestions in terms of color combination. Although I myself am trying to steer away from purple because I feel like I ALWAYS use purple, I'll go ahead and just do this purple look anyway since thats what most of you seem to want. I got a lot of requests for purples and pinks.

In terms of the color silver goes....in my opinion, it's kind of hard to go for silver without it turning out to be grey. They're almost the same color though aren't they? I guess silver e/s would have more shimmer to it I guess.

I also have a habit of adding black to my outer corners but I steered away from that this time. I hope it looks okay.
I used my 78 palette from CS to get this look.

I'm just going to list the eye shadow unless you really want to know anything else I used, just ask me and I'll reply in the comments.
I just looked at myself in the mirror and these pix really don't do it justice. The darker purple doesn't really show that well in these pix. It really has no dimension to my eyes either >:[

I really tried to make it a "shimmery" look but it kinda turned out to be a little matte and shimmery.

Sorry for the bad pix. It was hard to get the lighting right to do it justice. The camera kind of made it look washed out.

Here is with a flash. eyeliner is a bit messy...

1=inner corner/bottom lid
2=on top of the silver
3= outer corner
4= outer v

I used the blush marked in the picture.
I really love that color blush on me.

I couldn't get that many good pictures especially with the lighting so there are no face pictures today haha. Listing the blush was kind of pointless wasn't it?
Hope it wasn't too bad. I didn't feel like it was that great today.
Well I tried.
=P

Review: VS Soothing Body Lotion

I got this product recently and it was one of those things where you don't need to try it more than once to say "this is it". I got this not really sure what to expect other than what I tried with the tester at the store on my hands. Let me start off by saying, this lotion is great and in just a bit, I'll tell you why.

Here is the descrption on the Victoria's Secret website:

Your sensitive skin could use a little pampering. That's why we made our soothing body lotion extra gentle. It's hypoallergenic, non-greasy and noncomedogenic to moisturize without irritation. Enriched with Organic Oat Extract to calm, plus U.S.-sourced Soy Milk to fortify. Apply all over to leave skin feeling soft and soothed from tip to toes. Domestic.

This body lotion is also 100% Vegan for those of you that actually care. I'm turned on by anything that is "paraben free", natural, and/or organic. I'm not all animal activist either, but I also don't mind using vegan products.

Overall this product from the Pink skincare line seems to be aimed at being more "green".
Even the container is made from recycled products.

The moment I put this lotion on, I instantly felt a cooling sensation. Nothing too dramatic, but it's a calm cool feeling that lasts for a while. This lotion also moisturizes your skin without giving me that waxy, greasy feel. I've tried body butters from Bath and Bodyworks, and although they do moisturize me, there is still a greasy feel to it and my skin doesn't feel like it's being moisturized.
With this VS body lotion, I feel like my skin soaks up a ton of moisture like a sponge and stays moisturized. This is the way lotion SHOULD feel.

It massages right into your skin and doesn't leave a glossy look.

I honestly enjoy the smell as well. It's a very light refreshing clean smell.

Trying this right out of the shower is just heaven.

I got out of the shower about 30 minutes ago and I keep running my hands over my legs and arms just to feel how smooth I am lol.
So it really does last.

I only have a few petty bones to pick with this product. I don't care for the messy writing on the front of the label. Come on....just TYPE it using regular font. I'm just easily peeved by messy writing especially if it's on a store product.
It's expensive ($15 a bottle) UNLESS you buy any 3 products from this line for $21 THEN it makes it worth it. So getting 3 is the smarter choice.
And there is NO formal list of ingredients. Me, being a label reader, I like knowing what I put on my body and into my body. Especially if it's medication. I'm one to read the instructions inside out.

Pros:
-Easy pump
-Cooling effect
-Moisturizes
-Natural/Organic/Vegan
-Nice smell
-Soothes skin
-Skin stays moisturized

Cons:
-Expensive if purchased alone
-No listed ingredients
-I don't like the label's font.

Would I get it again?
Yes!
Where to get it?
At Victoria's Secret or on their website.

Overall quality:
5/5
